I am and always will be a sailor on the Good Ship Zutara, but I am coming to terms with Kataang as, well, I have to. (And they did create Tenzin, so for that alone I can get myself to be at least passingly fond of them.)
As far as the original meme-thingy goes:
Katara/Aang:
vomit / don’t ship / ok / cute / adorable / sexy / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell
Honestly, the reason why I never could ship them in the show? They set up Katara to be a mother figure so many times to Aang that the whole thing felt a little Oedipal. I think Aang even called her out on it in one episode. Plus shipping a twelve-year-old with anyone is a little… weird, even if he is the Avatar.
Katara/Zuko:
vomit / don’t ship / ok / cute / adorable / sexy / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell
There were a lot of subtle moments between the two of them. They seemed to understand each other extremely well, at a more mature level than Aang could muster. Plus their personalities just made for a really dynamic relationship that had a lot of room for fascinating development. Kataang felt forced and awkward at the end, really.
JohnLock (Worth noting I’m in the Sherlock is ace camp. This is also my main ship in the conventional sense for Sherlock because of it.):
vomit / don’t ship / ok / cute / adorable / sexy / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell
JimLock:
… I’m not sure how to answer this actually because my JimLock feels are complicated? I reiterate, I see Sherlock as asexual. I see Jim not as strictly ace, but somewhat apathetic towards it not because it’s sex but because everything is boring. If I’m going off of this as fair as how I see their dynamic, separated from true ‘shipping’, as it were? Just their interaction in the show and how some fans construe that?
vomit / don’t ship / ok / cute / adorable / sexy / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell
Yes. I’d need two for them. XD
IreneLock:
vomit / don’t ship / ok / cute / adorable / sexy / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell
Because hell. Irene and sexy go hand-in-hand and who am I to separate them.
vomit / don’t ship / ok / cute / adorable / sexy / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell
I think it’s a good time to point out that I don’t necessarily ship anything hardcore, so don’t expect me to bold anything after ‘perfect’. MAYBE ‘beyond flawless’, but definitely not the last three.
Also Bolin/Korra really is made of adorable and sweetness. I don’t ship anything in LoK yet as I think it’s way too soon, but I can see the budding of an adorable friendship that might be the cutest relationship on TV ever between these two.
vomit / don’t ship / ok / cute / adorable / sexy / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell

I think by this point in my life I could honestly recite Pericles’ Funeral Oration from memory. You may think I’m exaggerating: I am not. I have studied it in two different classes this year, I studied it in high school, I studied it at some point freshman year, I have studied it to hell (Hades?) and back.
I think with this paper, however, I will be done with it. Not to say I object to Pericles, it’s just… I’m much more a modern history sort of person, as much as I adore classics and ancient studies. I like reading about ancient Greece or Egypt; I like writing (academically) and discussing the Cold War or the Manhattan Project.
